Detailed Description:
The function of the fuel pump:
1. The function of the fuel pump is to extract the fuel from the fuel tank, filter it through the fuel filter and transport it to the pressure regulator, and then send it to the engine fuel distribution pipe to maintain a certain pressure. Fuel pumps are divided into built-in type (immersed in the gasoline in the fuel tank) and external type (arranged outside the fuel tank). The built-in type is generally used;
2. The roller oil pump itself has a cylindrical chamber with a disc-shaped rotor eccentrically arranged inside. There is a notch on the periphery of the rotor, and the rollers are supported in this notch. The centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the rotor presses the rollers outward, which acts as a peripheral seal;
3. The chamber surrounded by the rotor, rollers and pump body will change in volume as the rotor rotates. Fuel is sucked in on the side where the volume changes from small to large, and fuel is squeezed out on the side where the volume changes from large to small;
4. When the ignition switch is turned on but not started, the fuel pump works for 2 seconds to build up oil pressure for starting. As soon as the engine starts, the fuel pump is on. The electronic control unit (ECU) controls the fuel pump operation through an external fuel pump relay.
